Our strategy
“The CHT Group, the preferred partner and leading reference for sustainable chemical solutions in our worldwide markets”: It is our ambitious goal to offer our customers the best possible solution and at the same time contribute to a sustainable future.
As a foundation-owned company, we see sustainable business practices as our foundation – it is in line with our culture and our identity as a global business enterprise. We are even more aware of our social responsibility to make our contribution to maintaining a world worth living in for future generations. Chemistry plays a key role in this process, as chemical products and solutions help to improve people’s quality of life and protect the environment and climate. We do this by using raw materials more efficiently in our own operations, reducing energy consumption and waste and continuing to develop products that save resources and energy in our customers’ processes.
To achieve this, we have set ourselves goals and are also undergoing a transformation process as CHT. We have set ourselves the goal of achieving 80 % of our sales with sustainable products by 2025 and achieving greenhouse gas-neutral operations worldwide by 2045. We are taking on the challenge of shaping this change in a socially just way and closely involving our partners along the value chain. In our corporate strategy, we have set sustainability priorities and linked these to the relevant SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals of the UN). CHT has selected eleven of the 17 SDGs that are highly relevant to our business activities today and in the future (see chart).
The current Strategy 2025 aims to continue the profitable growth path and focuses even more strongly than before on customer business and sustainable value creation.

In addition to the long-term political course set by the “European Green Deal”, among other things, the development of Strategy 2030 is primarily about identifying the numerous opportunities for business development arising from the digital transformation and driving forward digitization.
The ideas and commitment of our employees, for whom we want to create a working environment in which they can feel motivated and contribute to the long-term success of CHT, are crucial to the success of these measures.
